After being a retail associates for several clothing stores in Houston, TX
James Samaniego got fed up with "the high-priced clothing and the fact
that each brand had it's own label or association." Samaniego's idea
behind Therapy, before it's birth, was simply originality. Unlike other labels,
Samaniego was hoping to reach everybody's core style along with a
reasonable cost to the customer. Although Therapy also upholds a skate team
James didn't want the stereotypical clothing line that was limited to only
"skaters." In 2006 Therapy began online along with a couple of Houston skater kids, or
though it only seemed. The individuals sponsored by Therapy truly are
Houstonian individuals. Each one not only has their own strong points to
contribute to skating but they all set up a variety of characters who love
all sorts of music. These sponsored skaters are selected carefully to
give Therapy Apparel the Houston spirit Samaniego originally used to create it.
When it comes down to sponsoring a new skater a true love for music must be
included. As well as a good heart and a strong character that can skate,
all in one. Therapy is simply built upon the heart of Houston, and will
always be meant to be that way.
